Warren was a Purple Heart recipient for his service in the US Marines in World War II on Iwo Jima. He was a lifetime deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, and for the last 18 years, Faith Baptist Church. Also, he was a past chaplain of the Paul E. Boyd Detachment Marine League and led the Special Department Ministry at his church. He had multiple occupations, including his time as a stone mason, but retired from the phone company where he took pride in how well he ran cable and climbed poles that others couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do. He loved to visit with people, was a square dancer, loved to fish, and enjoyed his wheels (his car) and the independence it gave him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aloysia Latimer Pecoul, his daughter, Aloysia Jean Pertuit, his son, Warren J. Pecoul Jr., a grandchild, Warren J. Pecoul III, a great grandchild, Alex J. Pertuit, his parents, Edward H. Pecoul Sr. and Gertrude Boudreaux Pecoul, his brother, Edward H. Pecoul Jr., and his sisters, Ruby Burst and Shirley Helm. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Tansey (Tyrone), his grandchildren, Aloysia P Loyd (Kenny), Lisa DeBaroncelli (Albert), and Dwight W. Pertuit Jr. (Patricia), great-grandchildren, Danielle Doss (Christopher), Ashley DeBaroncelli, Matthew Loyd (Kalli), Vivienna Pertuit, Aloysia M Loyd, Tristan Pertuit, and Blake DeBaroncelli, a great- great-grandson, Emmett Loyd, and many other family members and friends.
