Phyllis Louisa (Shook) Townsend, age 91 of Union City, Ohio passed away surrounded by her loving grandchildren on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Upland, Indiana on September 2, 1929 she was a daughter to the late Harry & Iva (Porter) Shook. Phyllis was a graduate of Greenville High School, class of 1948. She loved to play bingo, do needle point projects, and listen to the radio. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was known for making them “famous meals”; chili and SOS. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Galen Townsend: brothers Edward Shook; William Shook & Louise: sister Mary Shook: 2 infant siblings: son-in-law James Richardson: grandson Jimmy Richardson: great-grandson Jayden Shaw.
Survived by her daughter Sharon Richardson: grandchildren Brian Townsend & Jeanna Smith; Cathy Richardson & Bill Gibboney: great-grandchildren Jason Shaw; Matthew Townsend; Benjamin Townsend; Joey Bright; Jesse Bright; Sydnee Townsend; Brooklyn Hunley; Brandon Townsend; Mahala Townsend; Nicki & Spencer Monnin; Austin Gibboney; Brittany Weyrick; Shyanne Gibboney: great-great-grandchildren Kenton Bright; Serenity Townsend; Jaxon Townsend; Brayden Townsend; Jameson Townsend; Esperanza Franco; Jackson Monnin: and her loving companion “Bella”.
