William Henry Gaboriault

Born May 13, 1930 in Chicago to James Joseph and Alice (Proue) Gaboriault, He first married Sandra Trumpour in 1955 whom he had two children with. He then married Sally Markham whom he had one child with. He later married Margaret Mary Meyer on September 28, 1973 in Peoria. They preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by one son, William Gaboriault Jr. and three sisters.

Surviving are one daughter; Margaret (Carl) Phillips of Creve Coeur; one son, Vincent (Josephine) Gaboriault of Creve Coeur; three step-daughters, Mary Jane (Steven) Dickinson of Peoria, Gail Ausburn of East Peoria and Aggie (Brian) Shults of Golconda; one stepson, Doug (Myong) Ausburn of Aurora, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way; and one brother James Gaboriault of Washington.

He had served in the United States Air Force from July 17, 1956 to July 16, 1962. He attained the rank of Technical Sergeant. He had previously served in the United States Army.

William worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for many years, retiring in 1990 as a machinist.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. For 22 years, William and Margaret were known as winter Texans where they enjoyed going for walks on the beach and gathering shells.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fon du Lac Township Cemetery in East Peoria, where military rites will be accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and United States Air Force.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
