Lenny Steven Pereira passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at the age of 50, with his wife and daughters by his side. He was a beloved husband to Rachael and father to his two daughters, Kylie and Makayla, as well as a talented and well-respected athlete, in both hockey and golf. Len was destined for greatness; his athletic and professional accomplishments speak for themselves. He was a two-time All-American at Plattsburgh State University, member of the National Champion team in 1991-1992, and inducted into the Plattsburgh State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. Professionally, he was the President of Franklin Valve in Houston, Texas from 2009-2019.
Len, always armed with determination, strived to be a part of something larger than himself. Whether it was on the ice, in a boardroom, on a golf course, or in a clinical trial, Len rolled up his sleeves and wanted to be a part of a team that elevated its players, had purpose in solving problems and at the end of the day, made everyone a little bit better.
He enjoyed the comradery of sport, he said, “It was about the fellowship, brotherhood, discipline and commitment.” Len was respected and loved by those he worked with because of his dedication and loyalty to their personal and professional development. His message to others: be humble, work hard, respect all and expect nothing, and capitalize on opportunities as they arise in life but do so with fierce and unwavering determination.
For his short fifty years, Lenny’s accomplishments are broad and vast, but by far his greatest achievements are his daughters, Kylie and Makayla- his legacy. In them, Len said, “I got this right.”
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rachael; his two daughters, Kylie and Makayla; his parents Joe and Alda; his sister, Kelly, and her husband, Gabe, and many other loving family members and friends.
