He lived in Pyote, Texas most of his life, relocating to Odessa, Texas in 1996, and then to Coppell, Texas in 2006.
After graduating from Pyote High School in 1949, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950, where he served in Newfoundland.
After 4 years in the US Air Force, he attended Texas A&M and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1958.
Donald was married to Elizabeth Ann Smith and they had three daughters. He was employed by Perry R. Bass before building his own businesses in Pyote. He owned and operated the businesses with his wife for over twenty years, including Don’s Grocery and Deli. He was known throughout West Texas for delicious homemade burritos and barbecue sandwiches.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends and loved watching his Dallas Cowboy football and Texas A&M football. His hobbies included woodworking, arts and crafts. He loved his pet dogs and cats and they loved him. Don proudly wore #23 on his Pyote Panther football jersey while playing 6-man football and he continued to enjoy physical activities his entire life. He liked his blue jeans, Stetson hats, Dallas Cowboys caps, and his boots.
Don was preceded in death by his spouse, Elizabeth Ann Smith Price, his Father, George Franklin (Jack) Price, his Mother, Muriel (Merle) Jones Stribling, brothers, Leroy Price and Aubrey Dean Price. Donald is survived by his daughters, Vicki Price and son-in-law Dieter Jester of El Paso, Texas; Terri Covert of Coppell, Texas; Kelly Sciba, son-in-law Chuck Sciba, and 2 grandsons, Jeff Sciba and Brian Sciba of Spring, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Don will be deeply missed by his family and friends and his memory will be cherished in their hearts forever.
