On Sunday, April 11, 2021, Bernard Julian Komorsky, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 86. Bernard was born on May 14,1934 in Brooklyn, New York to Abraham and Miriam Komorsky. He earned his accounting degree from City College in New York and practiced as a CPA for over 50 years. In addition to his cherished family, this was his proudest achievement. On June 11, 1955, he married his lifelong best friend Ellen Ekhaus. They raised two children together, Marc and Nora. He was a beloved father-in-law to Marc's wife, Andrea, and Nora's husband, Norman. Bernard was the best Pop-Pop that Adam and Evan Levine and Arianna and Alexis Komorsky could ask for. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, his son Marc and wife Andrea, daughter Nora and her husband Norman, his sister Sandra, his brother-in-law Burton, his sister-in-law Fern, and many more loving family members and friends. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Sheldon, his sister-in-law Nora, and his brother-in-law Louis.
He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed going to watch the New York Mets play at Shea Stadium. Bernard loved being with people and always had a story to tell. He was deeply passionate about his work and dedicated to his clients. Everyone that knew Bernard loved him. He will be remembered for his intelligence and quick wit, his great sense of humor, and his compassionate, giving, and outgoing spirit.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021 at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY at 11:00 AM.
