Our beloved brother, Victor Wayne Holder, was ushered from this earthly realm into the glorious splendor of Heaven in his home during the early hours of April 13, 2021 there to be greeted by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a host of other heavenly members.
Victor was born in Burnet Texas on September 23rd, 1958. He spent most of his childhood in Marble Falls and graduated from MFHS in 1977. Victor wed his wife, Michele, on December 7, 1980 in Marble Falls Texas. They were married for more than forty years. Victor enjoyed movies, music, and cars; including an extensive Hot Wheels collection.
Victor was heard many times quoting a favorite scripture:
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth
them that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19
Victor was a man of conviction, firmly holding onto the truth of God’s Word as he read it, meditated on it, prayed about it, and as the Spirit gave him revelation. When he was eighteen years old, a friend shared the gospel with him and he made the personal decision then to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Not long after he went about sharing the gospel with his family members, coworkers, and many others that he came into contact with along the way. Victor wanted them to be sure that they understood the importance of this personal decision that everyone has to make at some point in their earthly lives; which is such a short span in comparison to eternity that God’s Word calls it a vapor.
Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour,
that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
James 4:13-15
Victor desired for people to see for themselves the richness and depth of God’s love for each of us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things
present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Anyone that knew Victor and spent any amount of time with him, has their own memories of him and different ways he impacted them. Victor was very passionate concerning the important things in his life; the highest being spiritual eternity.
For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.
I Corinthians 9:16
It is foolish and vain to try to paint a picture of Victor to cover all of one canvas. Just know this:
If you knew him and talked with him at all, it wasn’t just a passing fancy. He took your conversations to heart, remembered them, and looked forward to your next visit. (Unless of course it was a person, topic, or Bible version that he strongly disagreed with--- then it was a different story. Only those who really knew our brother know what we’re talking about!)
Victor leaves behind his wife and faithful companion, Michele. He also leaves behind his brother Kevin and wife Libby; sister Sonya and husband Marcus; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends from all over the world, as well as our 8 cats! We take comfort in knowing that he will greet us smiling in heaven one day.
Victor is preceded in death by his mother, Valrie, and stepfather, James, in 2007 and 2006 respectively.
We think Victor would want to leave each of you with this blessing from Numbers 6:24-26:
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
