Altamese Taylor the eldest child of the late John D. Anderson and Mathleen Lattimore. Altamese departed this life on Monday April 12, 2021 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey. She has been a faithful wife, loving mother, a caring grandmother, great grandmother and a great friend and confidant to many.
Altamese, MamaT, Mese, Sis as she was affectionately called, was born in St. Augustine, Florida on December 13th, 1936, later relocating to Cliffwood, NJ where she attended the Matawan School Systems. Shortly after she met and married the late Essix Taylor Sr.
Altamese was a loyal employee of Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for over 30 years where she practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse until she retired in 1998.
Altamese accepted Christ her Lord and Savior at an early age, and continued to serve Him for the rest if her life. She was a woman who strongly believed in the power of prayer in its ability to change any circumstance.
As a dedicated member of Princeton Deliverance Center she served in many capacities. In her later years Altamese relocated to Toms River NJ, 2010. In 2011 she moved her church membership to Community Baptist Church, she became a faithful member serving under the pastorate of Pastor Alexander Smith where she was a devoted member, serving faithfully as Advisor and Trustee, Sunday School advisor and teacher and Associate Minister of Community Baptist Church. On September 22, 2013 God called her to preach her first sermon, where she became an until her untimely death and the Lord took her home,
Altamese was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who faithfully took care of her grandchildren until she was no longer physically able to do so.
Altamese was loved by many including those who proceeded her (husband Essix Taylor Sr., brother John Anderson Jr., and great-grand daughter Camyla,
Altamese legacy continues through her four sons; Carlos H. Taylor, Robert C. Taylor, Wayne C. Taylor , and Essix Taylor Jr. (Tonya), her fourteen grandchildren Candice, Alexsis, Diamond, Xaviair, Robert, Shanne"l, Eric, Amanda, Christina, Yolanda, Brittany, Essence, Essix (Ej) and Aiden, seven great-grandchildren; Tamia, Chalia, Chance, Shemar, Sherkhan, Autumn and Jay'len, three sisters; Mary Cashwell, Kathleen Rice, Angela Roundtree (Charles) and Peggy Anderson, brother Nathaniel Anderson (Pat), a special niece Fletta Gregory who was always there when needed, and a very special daughter-in-love Tonya Taylor a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
