Aimee went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2021, at the age of 60, after a courageous two year battle with lung cancer. A Baton Rouge native, she died peacefully with husband Mike at her side. Aimee was a kind, compassionate and caring person who never met a stranger. She loved to cook and take short trips to the coast. She was always wanting to help others, and her passion was alcohol and drug addiction counseling. Her faith was very strong, and she always said “God’s got me” while holding up a cupped hand. Her spirit was bright and she touched many lives along the way. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Mike Planchard; grandmother, Betty Baughman; parents, Lavern and Peggy Rylee, all of Baton Rouge; sisters, Kelli Norwood (Lane) of Pride and Lisa Long (Dennis) of Oklahoma; uncle, David “Bo” Baughman; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Versie Baughman; aunt, Cindy Baughman; and mother-in-law, Rose Planchard. Visitation will be from 1 pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 pm at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Dr., on Thursday, April 22, 2021, with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ken Bates, Rylee Norwood, Jason Welch, Lane Norwood, Bo Baughman, and Dennis Long. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to O’Brien House in Baton Rouge, or to a charity of your choice.
