Carol was the beloved wife to Charles Civetta of Norwood for almost 58 years. In 2013 Carol and Charlie renewed their wedding vows for their 50th anniversary celebration surrounded by family and friends. When Carol wasn’t working her day jobs, she devoted her time to volunteer services to help others. She excelled at arranging fundraising events and family reunions. She was a licensed ombudsman in the state of Massachusetts to monitor senior living establishments. She also poured her efforts into helping United States veterans as well as burn survivors. Carol spent many years researching her family’s history, including travels to Ireland, Italy and Portugal for further research. She loved hosting family reunions and has posted her genealogy findings on Ancestry.com. Carol was a constant learner, avid reader, politically active and an artist who loved photography, creating paintings, sculptures, jewelry and, of course, gingerbread houses with her grandchildren each Christmas.
Carol loved to attend live performances. She and her daughter spent many years going into Boston’s theater district to see plays, ballets and her favorite, musicals.
