Michael Mitchell Woodrome passed way peacefully April 18, 2021 at the age of 83 in Keller, Texas. Mike was born, October 17, 1937 to Mitchell and Virginia Woodrome and was raised on the former Army base, The Presidio in San Francisco, California.
He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco, attended the University of Maryland pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering for two years, then joined the Army Corps of Engineers where he worked in Europe on airfields. Upon completing his service he returned home to the Bay Area where he met his wife, Sharon Ann Heller, at a dance in Guerneville, CA. He proposed two weeks later and they were married six months later on January 22, 1967.
They were blessed with two daughters, Colette and Michaela. They enjoyed a full and busy life together highlighted by five years in Maui, Hawaii where they made many close, life-long friends. While on Maui they had many amazing adventures such as joining a halau, performing hula in Hawaii and Japan and visiting Turkey. After a long career as a civil engineer, Michael retired and most recently worked part-time for fun at the Keller, Texas Home Depot, which he enjoyed immensely.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Colette, her husband, Richard; daughter, Michaela, as well as his beloved grandchildren Dain, Mary, Michael, Rowan, Megan, Charlotte and Cameron all of whom he was so proud. Michael was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be forever missed by all who had the chance to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in remembrance of Mike.
