Alvin Jess Palmer, 63, of Grandview, Missouri passed away peacefully on April, 19, 2021 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He was born January 6, 1958 to Elmer L. and Evalina (Grefe) Palmer in Emporia, Kansas.
Alvin enjoyed traveling to new places. He loved spending time with all of his children and grandchildren, whether it was taking them to the golf course to dressing up at holiday events, being around his family was important to Alvin. He enjoyed playing lottery scratch-offs and would include them as gifts to his children. In later years he liked to tinker with computers and play online video games. In fact, Alvin met his wife Kathy in an online video game group. They were married at sunset on the beach in St. Petersburg, Florida on May 28, 2004. Alvin worked for Walmart for over 25 years in various positions, he was very fond of and committed to his work and liked the contact he had with coworkers and customers.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and brother William “Bill” Palmer. He is survived by his wife Kathy; brother Jerry (Marieta) Palmer; sisters Shirley (John) Depew and Betty (Ed) Rhoads; children Charity (Matt) Taylor, William (Karisa) Palmer, Jeremy (Christian) Palmer, Karalea (Houston) Brown, Micah (Allison) Palmer, Jennifer Nourie and Amanda Hoskins; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Alvin’s memory be made to the American Diabetes Association or National Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri.
