She was born in Austin, Texas on March 27, 1948 to Harrell H. and Lois E. Hancock, who preceded her in death.

Barbara was a member of Hays Hills Baptist Church for 20 years and Park Hills Baptist Church for 21 years. She continued to stay in touch with many of the members of Park Hills throughout the years.
Barbara was employed at the Industrial Accident Board/Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission for 30 years. She served the great State of Texas public as a customer service assistant aiding on the job workers with their workers’ compensation claims, Staff Services Supervisor, and Contested Case Hearing Officer Assistant.
Barbara loved her co-workers’ and considered some of them family. After retiring in 1999 Barbara continued a relationship with many of them and they enjoyed get-to-gethers to reminisce about all the funny stories and some not so funny encountered while at work.
After retiring from employment in 1999 Thomas and Barbara spent the next ten years traveling the states with their travel trailer and their loyal husky companion Akita Cheyenne. The Lord blessed them with the opportunity to enjoy many wonderful years together on the road.
Barbara adored her grandchildren and regretted so much after her diagnosis that she was unable to physically participate in more of their activities.
Barbara had a love and compassion for cats and dogs all of her life. Some of you are probably aware from her postings on Facebook (which some of you probably thought does this woman have a life)? She loved all of her pets, but her favorites were her two Siberian huskies, Akita and Sadie.
Many thanks go to the medical profession for Barbara’s care during her illness: Oncologist, Carsten Kampe and Srivani Thatikonda; Cardiologist, David Morris and P.A. Roberta Richards; and Primary Care Physician, Humberto Maldonado, Jr.
Grave side services will be held at 10am on Monday April 26 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park. A Memorial Service at Hays Hills Baptist Church will be held sometime this fall.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Barbara Doebner to Hays Hills Baptist Church.
