Wally Fred Stuart, age 68, of Richmond, California passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021. He was born August 21, 1952 at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, California to the union of Fred (Sonny) Stuart and Lee Ester Wise Stuart. Wally attended Coronado Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High, JFK High and graduated in 1971 from Samuel Gompers High School, all in Richmond, California.
At an early age, Wally accepted Jesus Christ and joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Richmond. He was baptized by Rev. A. H. Newman. Wally actively participated through his teen years. He was a regular participant with The Richmond Boy’s Club playing pool and basketball. He delivered the Richmond Independent Newspaper and Sun Reporter.
After high school, Wally had brief work experience with Del Monte Cannery. He was soon unable to work due to his illness. He was cared for by his mother and several caretakers - Mr. Groom, Rev. and Mrs. Cannon, and most recently, Family Courtyard Assisted Living.
Wally enjoyed services offered by Rubicon, the Recovery Center and The Guardian of El Sobrante. He loved watching wrestling, going through spelling books, as well as, seeing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters - Lee Versa (Gladstone) Wood, and Martha Jean (Ennis, Sr.) Pool, and one brother - Jimmy (Pamela) Stuart, nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
A burial for Mr. Stuart will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1:30PM at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, 4100 Hilltop Dr, Richmond, California 94803.
