James Edward Lamb passed away suddenly at home surrounded by family, Friday April 23rd, 2021 at the age of 73. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart Karen (Reade), with whom he was married to for 53 years. Together they raised six daughters, Tammy (Ken Vincent), Jenny (Mike Schantz), Bonnie (Matthew Purdy), Angie (Jack Brown), Jackie (Colin Krasny), and Karen (Corey Pennington). He had eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, Ashley, Michael, Kyle, Casey, Tyler (Ryan), Mya, Mason, Samantha, Katelyn, Ali, and Gavin. His siblings, Sue, Tim (Denise), Barb (Larry), and Linda (Randy). He was preceded in death by his biological parents; Jack and Barbara Lamb (Merrihew), as well as his stepfather Jim and his brother Jack.
Jim was born on August 30th, 1947 in Redford, MI. He moved to Dexter as a child where he attended Dexter Schools. Following high school he joined the Army in 1966. He married Karen on May 18th, 1968 and they lived in Dexter where they raised their six girls.
Jim was a skilled brick mason who built his business J.L. Masonry, while mentoring future brick masons. Jim was a family man who enjoyed boating, picnics at the point, golfing, and camping. He loved life, his family, and his country. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him could tell you how selfless and kind he was. His big heart, bright blue eyes, and warm smile are unforgettable.
There will be a burial service held promptly at 11am on Tuesday April 27th at Forest Lawn Cemetery; 8095 Grand St, Dexter MI. Following the service there will be a luncheon held at the American Legion; 8225 Dexter-Chelsea Rd.
