Mamie Melrose Grindle, age 93, of Tucker GA passed away April 23rd 2021 from complications of a stroke. She leaves behind two sons, Philip and Lindsay; a daughter in law, Jackie; grandkids Sara and Sean; brother Aaron; Sister Betty Sue; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Melrose was one of eleven brothers and sisters born on a small farm in Preston Georgia. she moved to the big city of Atlanta in her teens to work for Sears Roebuck where she eventually met her husband, Clarence, who preceded her in death 6 years prior – also at age 93. They are together in Heaven now but we will miss them none them less. She loved to garden, feed the birds and country cooking. Her cooking and sweet tea was some of the best around. She enjoyed flowers including Azaleas and had lots of them.
The family will celebrate her life May 3rd at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy in Tucker GA with visitation from 2-3 pm and a graveside service immediately after.
For those thinking of sending flowers, they will be appreciated but we suggest you consider a small donation to the American Stroke Association (www.stroke.org) or a charity of your choice instead.
