Linda Lou Green, age 73, of Tallapoosa, Georgia passed away Monday, April 26, 2021. She was born January 14, 1948 and grew up in Corbin, Kentucky. In 1965, she married Terri Shelby. Her children lovingly called him “Daddy Terri”. After Terri’s passing, Linda moved to Douglasville in the 80’s. It was there she met Richard, whom she married on December 19, 1982. Linda was a woman of strong Christian Faith. She was always there for you to help when needed and loved to help others who were less fortunate. Linda adored babies and had been a neo-natal worker. She also was involved in the earliest research in children with HIV. She enjoyed collecting as well as making porcelain dolls. Linda was also a collector of spoons, bells, and elephants. In her spare time, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, especially landscapes and Thomas Kinkade.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Terri Lee Shelby; her father, Edward James Farmer; her mother, Nevada (Hall) Farmer; brothers, James Farmer and Victor Ray Barrett; daughter, Terri Lisa Shelby; and granddaughter, Charli Elizabeth Powell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Richard Green; daughters, Linda Ann Gann (Greg), Kendra Shelby Higgins (Brian), Tifani Shea Estes (Chris Crumley); son, Mark Travis Shelby; stepsons, Richard Gearld Green (Dianne) and Russell Winston Green (Debra); stepdaughters, Donna Elaine Schlosser (Joseph) and Trixie Annette Green; brother, Edward Neal Farmer; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several life-long friends who supported her and helped her with her children; as well as numerous other loved ones, family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A graveside service is planned for Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia 30349.
