Taylor Branham Hovis passed away on April 21st, 2021 in Madisonville, LA at the age of 31. He was born in Metairie, LA and has been a resident of the Northshore for the past 25 years. He is survived by his mother, Pam Hovis, father, Terry (Kimberlie) Hovis, two brothers, Nathan Hovis and Harrison Hovis, and grandfather, Joseph E. Branham. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Madaleen G. deArmas whom he loved and adored dearly, and paternal grandparents Ralph and Mildred Hovis. Taylor had kind eyes and a warm smile. He was very outgoing, made friends wherever he went, and touched many hearts. He loved playing sports as a child and excelled in soccer over the years; playing club and High School soccer as an “All-State” goalkeeper. His passion for soccer was a huge inspiration in both of his brother’s lives and they played together often. He worked as a Sous Chef in many prominent restaurants in the area and because of his natural talent was very successful and wanted to make a career for himself in the industry. In recent months Taylor spent a lot of quality time with his family, took up fishing and really enjoyed it. Taylor will be missed by everyone who knew him. As he was a big dog lover, and in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Northshore Humane Society 20384 Harrison Ave., Covington, LA 70433 Ph: 985-892-7387. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial celebrating Taylor’s life at GRACE FUNERAL HOME, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, on Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2021 at 4:00. Visitation will begin at 2:00. Interment will be private at a later date. An online guestbook is available at www.gracenorthshore.com.
