Erzsebet Katalin “Kathy” Dekan, 62, was born in Budapest, Hungary on April 02, 1957. She peacefully passed away on March 06, 2020, in Raleigh North Carolina, with all her children and older grandchildren by her side until her very last breath.
In her earlier years, Kathy was a stylish woman who loved to travel the world. She went to college and worked as a journalist in Budapest, Hungry. She enjoyed outdoor activities such as ice skating on the lake, camping, and exploring mother nature. Kathy moved to the United States in the late 80’s with her two older children to pursue an opportunity for a better life. As her older children reached adulthood, Kathy settled down in Johnston County, North Carolina to raise her two younger children. Kathy was employed at Pepsi Bottling Ventures. She worked as a lab technician for 15 years.
She was a devoted single mother who loved her children unconditionally. She poured her heart and soul into raising her kids with only wanting to see their happiness in return. She had many talents including drawing and crafting. She
enjoyed spending the holidays with family and will be remembered for her notorious elf costume at Christmas. Family and friends who knew her will never forget her contagious laugh, strong accent, and her ability to brighten any room with her smile.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Bujdos Laszlone; her older brother, Laszlo Bujdos; four children: Viktoria, Gyorgy, Brittnie, and Laszlo; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
