Edward-Brandon Selom Yao, a Bronx native affectionately known as King Edward, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the age of 35. Edward is survived by his parents; his brother, Liam Yao; his nephews, Logan & Landon Yao; niece, Sophia Yao, and his fiancée, Samira Fowler.
Edward was born in Washington, DC on April 18, 1986 to Wisdom and Margaret Yao. He graduated from Lafayette College, in Easton, Pennsylvania in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Law with a minor in Anthropology and Sociology. He was a member of the Greek Fraternity Delta Upsilon and a member of the Brothers of Lafayette.
Edward was a dedicated partner, avid world traveler and foodie. He enjoyed exploring new places and experiencing new cultures and local cuisines. Together with his Fiancée and family, Edward visited over 20 states and traveled to over 15 countries, including Ghana, Grand Turks, St. Lucia, Haiti, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Hawaii, Honduras, France, England & Morocco.
Edward’s bright smile, charismatic presence, and unyielding friendship will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
