Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie. Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
She is survived by; one daughter, Yolanda Vita Trahan and husband, Kenneth, of Houma, one son, Ricardo G. Vita, Sr. and wife, Jill, of New Orleans; one brother, Paul Folse of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Kimberly Trahan Scholz, and husband, Robert, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ricardo G. Vita, Jr. and wife, Jill, of Mandeville, Jason G. Vita and wife, Sheila, of St. Louis, Mo., and Kristi Vita Rhodes and husband, Jack of New Orleans; two step-grandchildren, Madeline Barbour of New Orleans and Jonathan Barbour of Austin, Texas and eight great-grandchildren, Lilly Kate and Elly Leighton Vita of Mandeville, Abigail Elizabeth, Kenneth Walker and Mason Edward Scholz of Corpus Christi, Leo Geralto Vita of St. Louis, Jack Sullivan Rhodes, Jr. and Duke Joseph Rhodes of New Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Geralto J. Vita, father, Hampton Folse, mother, Rose Autin Folse and brother, Norris Folse.
A native of Raceland and resident of New Orleans, she was born June 25, 1929. In addition to being a homemaker, she volunteered for St. Michael Special School and the Shriner’s Women’s Auxiliary.
