Mildred Bennett Steele, 90, of Jasper, left her Earthly body Friday, April 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her residence where she gained her wings. We will remember our “Mother” Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Old Herman Baptist Church Cemetery in Curry at 2 p.m. Brother Don Graham will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
She was known to be elegant and classy and also lit up the room with her dynamic personality and presence, giving her the nickname of “Dude.” She provided guidance in our world and we will be forever changed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton Steele; parents, Samuel and Emaline Bennett; granddaughter, JoAnna Beth Tittle; sisters, Artie Mae Durham, Bertha Kennedy, Esker Kennedy, and Kathryn Dobson; brothers, Louie Bennett, Charlie Bennett, Emory Bennett, and Jim Bennett
She is survived by her children, Connie Steele, Diana Tittle (Steve), Sandra Steele, Jeff Steele (Donna), Jerome Steele (Brenda), and Hani Karachi (Basma); grandchildren, Scott Guy, Jason Tittle, Candace Herron, Michelle Teer, Bradley Guy, Blake Guy, Tasha Steele, Ryan Steele, Joshua Steele, Zack Steele, Scott Smith, Jeremy Smith; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
