He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Helen (Konopka) Zarzecki; and his three brothers, Tom, Stanley and Frank Zarzecki.
He is survived by his loving and devoted partner of 25 years, Judith Weidner; three children, Joe M. Zarzecki of St. Louis, MO, Jennifer (Cary) Warner of St. Lous, MO and Jacquie (Brandon) Dudley of Hope Mills, NC; 5 grandchildren, Abbey, Olivia, and Dylan Zarzecki; Juliana and Jocelyn Dudley; one brother, Edward Zarzecki of Collinsville, IL; two sisters, Helen Waters of Wichita Falls, TX and Anne Marie Fowler of Joplin, MO; stepchildren, Scott Weidner, Gina Guinn, Stacey Burk, and Jason Weidner; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe graduated from Assumption High School in East St. Louis in 1963. He was a retired electrician with Ameren (formerly known as Union Electric) after many years of dedicated service.
Joe enjoyed things such as riding his Harley, playing golf, but most of all, he cherished his time with his family and friends. Joe was a loving and devoted partner, father, grandpa and friend. He will be truly and deeply missed by us all.
Memorial donations may be made to Leaps of Love, an organization that embraces families affected by childhood cancer or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern Illinois for their care and service throughout their time with the Zarzecki family.
VISITATION: A memorial visitation for Joe will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 1:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208.
SERVICE: A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Private inurment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL at a later date.
