Wallace Hamill, age 95, passed away on May 4, 2021 in Denton, Texas. He was born on May 31, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to his mother, Marie Head Wallace. Wallace was raised in the Swiss Avenue neighborhood where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1943. He went on to proudly serve his country as Staff Sergeant and AAF Air Crew Gunner in World War II. Wallace married Gloria Walker in 1946, and together they adopted two children. Wallace built a successful career spanning more than 35 years as a hearing aid salesman at the family business, Hamill Hearing Aid.
In his spare time, Wallace was happiest working in his garden and being in nature; he loved talking to his plants daily. Earlier in his life, he also loved flying. Wallace’s friends and family will always remember him as a person who loved to talk to people and make them laugh, loved his family to a fault and always put them first, and was always willing to forgive.
Wallace is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Hamill; Charlene Lauderdale; and many friends. He is survived by Diane and Steve Fleck and grandson Kevin Fleck; granddaughters, Jordyn and Amanda; and great-grandsons, Eli and Levi.
The family will be holding a private service at a later date; no public services at this time.
