Richard Lee Moleski, age 37, passed away peacefully with the blessed support and care of nurses, family, friends, and clergy at the Big Bend Hospice House on May 7, 2021. He was born in Bradenton, FL, but grew up in Tallahassee, and was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Chiles High School.
After earning his B.A. in History at Florida State University, he pursued graduate studies in Theology at Ave Maria University. His lifelong passions were his Catholic Faith and its influences on history. Some of his greatest joys in life were his nieces and nephews. Despite being ill for years, he taught himself Polish, Spanish, French, and German and volunteered in crowd-source translating. He also enjoyed FSU football and was a self-proclaimed foodie.
Richard is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Stephen and Christine Moleski, siblings Karen Kempf (Philip), Robert, Cheryl Criado (Kristopher), LeeAnne Ostendorf (Brady), and seven nieces and nephews. His patient, Christian suffering served as an inspiring, faith-enriching example to all who were touched by his passing.
Services are as follows: Visitation at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home/Timberlane from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 8; Funeral Mass at 3:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Sunday, May 9; and a memorial Mass to be offered by his uncle, Reverend Martin Zielinski, on Monday, May 10 at 6:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
