Dolores Marie Eichler (nee Horning) passed away peacefully on May 10, 2021. Born to Paul and Marie (nee Bourquin) Horning on July 28, 1927, she was a graduate of Suffield High School and longtime member of St. Joseph Parish. In 1948, Dolly married Gilbert Eichler and, in their 67 years together, raised a large and loving family.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband, son William, and daughter-in-law Beverly (nee Heiser) Eichler, she is survived by daughter Rosemarie (Steve) Czapski and sons James (RoseMarie); Edward (Helen Jane); Jerome (Deborah Kilgore); Dennis (Marilyn); Ronald (Cara); and by daughter-in-law Patricia Eichler. In addition, she leaves 19 grandchildren and 41 (soon to be 43) great-grandchildren.
Predeceased as well by her sister, Audrey Pero, and by brothers William Horning, Earl Horning, and Joseph Horning; she leaves behind her sisters Mary Ellen Hartong and Lois Byers, and brothers David Horning and Michael Horning, along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Dolly was involved in many church and community organizations. Among them St. Joseph Church and School, Habitat for Humanity, Hot Meals, Altar and Rosary Society, Garden Club, and Red Hat.
Visitors will be received on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 9:30 AM, at St. Joseph Church, on Waterloo Rd, between Randolph and Suffield, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Thomas S. Acker, S.J. following at 11:00 AM, with internment at St Joseph Cemetery. Please observe social distancing and mask guidelines.
