Mr. Rodney L Ramey, age 67, of McLeansville, NC passed away on Friday morning, May 14, 2021. Rodney had a long courageous battle with cancer for eight years. We know he is now completely healed and in the presence of our Lord and Savior. He was born on March 29, 1954 in Greensboro, NC to Selma B. Ramey and the late Ed C. Ramey. Before his retirement, Rodney worked as a lineman and then as a supervisor at Duke Energy having 48 years of service there. He loved his work family, enjoyed his interactions with his customers, and loved working with the storm teams helping those who needed help the most. He was a former member at Hines Chapel Church in McLeansville, NC from childhood and was a faithful member at Grace Fellowship at South Park in Reidsville, NC. Rodney loved the Lord and used his cancer story as a testimony. He would pray for the other patients and their families in the waiting room knowing he would never be able to ring the bell. His faith, love, and commitment to God, his family and his friends were unmeasurable. We all knew how much he loved and cherished us. He truly had a servant’s heart. Rodney also had a love for finding other people’s discarded treasures and refurbishing them. He had a talent for woodworking that was passed down from his dad. His greatest joy was traveling and making memories with his wife and family.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Causey Ramey; daughter Laurie Keesee Alderman, her husband Kevin Alderman and their children Seth Daniel Fields and Emma Leanne Fields; his mother Selma B. Ramey; his brother Jeff L. Ramey and his wife Gladys Kammetler; nieces Davis L. Ramey and K. Glenn Ramey; brother and sister in law Jim M. Causey and wife Nancy Causey; nephews and nieces Tim Causey and family, Chad Causey and family and Amy Kester and family. Rodney was preceded in death by his father Ed C. Ramey.
