Crystal Lynn Timer-Borne, 39, originally of Mt. Vision, was taken from us way to soon. Crystal passed away unexpectedly May 14, 2021. Crystal was born July 7, 1981 to John and Penelope Timer of Mt. Vision.
Crystal was cared for in her infant years by her Aunt Pam and later her Gramma Hall, when her parents were at work. She spent her summer vacations from school with Gramma Hall, helping on the family dairy farm, swimming in the pool, and riding on the back of her cousin’s dirt bike. Crystal wasn’t big on farm chores at Gramma’s or at home, but loved the animals. She preferred kittens over calves but she would spend her time petting whatever was available.
Crystal graduated from Laurens Central School with the Class of 2000. School work was not easy for her but being with people was. Solid people skills were her strong suit, a skill that helped her find her way in the world. Crystal was always a dedicated employee. She started out working locally at Ames department store, then Price Chopper, Bassett, Spring Brook, Taylors, and most recently Hannaford in Cairo. In April of 2021, she was recognized with her 5-year service pin from Hannaford and was very proud of it. Crystal loved her job at Hannaford and the wonderful people she worked with and for.
Crystal was the most loving daughter and sister imaginable. She was a bright light that touched so many and always saw the positive in even some of the crummiest things. Crystal had a kind and gentle soul combined with a big heart and a constant smile. She was sensitive and used that in her eloquent and heartfelt posts and letters to friends and family. For those that had the privilege of sharing a good joke with Crystal, they will never forget her laugh as it usually ended with her wrinkling her nose and snorting. She enjoyed trips with family and friends to places ranging from Arizona to Florida to Salem, Massachusetts. Crystal was content with an independent, simple life. She appreciated the most basic things that others take for granted. Crystal’s greatest joy in life was just spending time with family and friends.
Crystal is survived by her mother Penelope (special family friend William Howard) Timer of Mt. Vision, her sister Jennifer (Marilyn “The Other Half”) Timer of Hartwick and grandmother Lillian Hall of Oneonta. Aunts-Pamela (Bill) Sands, Donna (Don) Decker, Wendy (Frank) Cleaveland, Betty (Les) Burgess, Marilyn Garman, and Mary (Mark) Timer. Uncles-Fred (Andrea) Hall, Albert (Lee) Timer, Jim (Kim) Timer, several cousins, great aunts, and great uncles. Special extended family include great uncle and aunt, Jack and Toy Kostbar, cousin Jack (Janet) Kostbar, cousin Ray Timer, and his entire family. Special friends Liz, Megan and Kristal.
Crystal was predeceased by her father John Timer, grandfather Fred Hall Sr., grandparents Albert and Emily Timer, Uncle Herb Garman, and cousin Adam Burgess.
Crystal was loved by many, and will continue to stay in our hearts and minds forever and motivate us to be loving, kind and good, like she was.
