Lillian E. (Clark) Gaj, 96, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Our Lady’s Haven after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph F. Gaj. To whom she was married to for 49 years.
Born in Fairhaven, Lillian was the daughter of the late Stanton B. and Lucy J. (Buell) Clark and was a lifelong Fairhaven resident.
Lillian graduated from Fairhaven High School and the Massachusetts Institute of Hair & Beauty. She enjoyed bird watching, painting, gardening, bingo, crafts and especially traveling to Hawaii and Poland with her family.
The family would like to thank the devoted staff at the Fairhaven Atria and Our Lady’s Haven as well as Beacon Hospice.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janet Benoit and her husband Bob and June Anselmo and her husband Bill all of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Heather Govoni and her husband Todd of Lakeville and Brad Joseph and his wife Jamie of Plymouth; great grandchildren, Nick, Alex, and Julia Govoni and Natalie and Avery Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, brothers Harold, Peter, and Alvin and her parents.
Her visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a service in the
funeral home at 11 a.m. in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 274 Main St., Fairhaven.
