Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Pine Crest Funeral Home with Bro. Percy Peters officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the ground of Pine Crest Cemetery.
The family will be accepting guests for visitation on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Pine Crest.
Jimmie is survived by his son; Dale Gammage, one daughter; Christie Atkins and husband Chris, three grandchildren: Gray Gammage, Bennett Atkins, Harbor Atkins, two sisters; Norma Peters and husband Percy, Wanda Holbein, one brother; Mickey Gammage and wife Judy, his loving girlfriend; Ava Barbour along with many nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Jimmie was born Oct 10, 1947 and grew up on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL. Jimmie attended B.C. Rain high school and graduated in 1966 and then worked as a Mechanic for Chevron refinery in Pascagoula, MS for twenty-eight years. Following his career at Chevron, he worked as a Mechanical Consultant in Kazakhstan Russia. He resided on Dauphin Island and enjoyed years of hunting, fishing, cooking and watching Alabama football. More than anything Jimmie loved his family, girlfriend and friends but his greatest joy was being PJ to his grandsons. He made sure he lived his life to the fullest with love, laughter, kindness, generosity, understanding and knowledge.
Jimmie will be forever missed by those who loved him.
Honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be Dale Gammage, Bob Booher, Arthur Cross Sr., Tony Smith, Danny Tree Bug Tree, and Billy Richardson.
