Yvonne Panceta Marshall, age 73, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021. Yvonne was born in Clarendon, Jamaica on April 6, 1948. Proud of her Jamaican heritage, she, as well as her entire family, were raised in Jamaica. While family and her love for God were the priorities in her life, Yvonne was known to be an elaborate storyteller, a jokester and she loved making others laugh. She received her certificate of teaching and served as a principal at Albion Primary School. From 2006 through 2018, she worked as a nurse at Douglasville Nursing and Rehab. Yvonne was an intellectual person, who loved history, politics and religion. She was a practicing Anglican and was a member of Trinity Anglican Church of Douglasville. Yvonne enjoyed baking, was a great cook as her culinary skills showcased her ability to recreate any cuisine from any culture. In her spare time, she loved gardening, loved watching westerns and was an avid reader.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Junor Marshall; her father, Melbourne Reid; and a brother, Dennie.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Casmin (Robinson) Mighten and Lester Mighten; daughters, Stacey (Hector), Nichole, Kayon and Karen; stepson, Kavan; brothers, Patrick (Mercedes), Derrick (Rose), Orville, and Michael; sisters, Joyce, Clare, Maureen, Karlene, Althea and Elaine; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Hector, Jr., Shemaya, Kaleaf, Calvin, Jr., Trinity and Aaliyah; two great-grandchildren, Isla and Sajee; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 in the Rosehaven Chapel.
