Percy Vincent Bizette, age 97, a resident of Baton Rouge, went to be with our Lord on June 3, 2021. Percy was a WWII Veteran. He fought in combat in Europe as a rifleman. He was in the 84th infantry division, which was the platoon that chased after Hitler. He was injured in Belgium, and earned his Purple Heart.
Percy was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Bizette; mother, Nadege; three sisters, Rose Landry of California, Delores Moak of Mississippi, Rita Forbes of Louisiana.
Percy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Wanda Bizette; two daughters, Darlene Melancon and husband Donald of Baton Rouge, Beryl Summers of Kansas City, KS; two sons, Larry Bizette of Ashville, NC, Ricky Millet of Denham Springs; sister, Loretta Krause of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren, Michael Ruckman and wife Joy, Christopher “Tommy” Ruckman, Ashley Ivy and husband Josh, Nathan Millet and wife Cayla, Michael Summers, Sherry Summers, Susan Summers; 18 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Life Source Hospice for their kindness and care.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 12, from 12-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Presiding Clergy will be Chaplain James Womack.
