TUSCALOOSA – Billy Frank Holliman, age 85, passed away June 7, 2021 at his home. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Bernie Deffinger and Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Holliman was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha “Rose” Holliman; parents, Pauline and Melton Holliman; children, Wanda and Dwight; and sister, Gail Holliman Poole.
He is survived by his daughters, Rita Pate (Danny) and Lisa Wienecke (Joe); sisters, Bobbie Rogers (Fred), Pat Richardson, Judy Savage (Don), Dianne Langford (Steve), Debbie Holliman, and Terrie Palmer; grandchildren, Sheri Taylor (Shane), Jason Pate (Jennifer), Haley Hitt (Jeremy), Kristina Mills, Scott Harless, Adam Wienecke, Matthew Wienecke, and Nick Wienecke; great-grandchildren, Zeb Pate, Jack Hallmark, Braden Hitt, Ella Pate, Barrett Hitt, Chloe Taylor, and Greyson Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews who were very special to him and dear to his heart.
He was loving husband to his wife Rose of 60 yrs, Dad to his four children, granddaddy to his grandkids and great-grandkids, brother to his seven sisters, and uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He loved old cars, especially mustangs. He served in the army and army reserves. He drove a truck for years and was always rewarded for his safe driving. After he retired from truck driving, he couldn’t sit idle for long and went back to driving trucks for a friend’s company. He then went to work for StressCrete, Inc. and the Dodge dealership. He loved working in his garden and he loved his dogs, Cuma, Rusty, and Ginger, and cat, Buddy.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pate, Zeb Pate, Scott Harless, Steven Langford, Ted Durrett, and Kerry Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Hitt, Jack Hallmark, Joseph Langford, Lance Poole, J.C. Poole, Ricky Rogers, Robbie Richardson, Mike Richardson, Joey Rogers, Danny Rogers, Ken Dunn, Zebedee Jones, Tuscaloosa First Church of the Nazarene, the staff of VA Medical Center, Encompass Home Health, and StressCrete, Inc.
