On Monday June 7th, 2021, Marian E. Case, age 90, left this world to join her beloved husband Wallace who preceded her by almost ten years. She passed peacefully, and very quickly, at UPMC Lititz surrounded by family members.
Marian was born in White Plains, New York on 1/5/1931. She was the second daughter of the late Leslie Stepan and Marion Wells Stepan. She had only one sibling, an older sister Beatrice Young, also deceased. She resided in NY, CT, and then FL, before moving to Manheim, PA in her later years.
Marian was a homemaker most of her life. Anyone who visited her home could not deny that she kept a meticulous house! She worked for a year at American Mutual Insurance in New York City prior to her marriage to Wallace on 9/4/1949. While living in Colchester, CT she worked briefly as a preschool teacher.
Not surprising, having 5 daughters, she became involved with the Girl Scouts serving as a troop leader while living in West Sayville, NY. She was also active on the Sayville Village Improvement Society eventually serving as president.
Marian loved to shop and enjoyed “getting a bargain”. Marian enjoyed travelling with “Wally” making several trips to England and Europe. For almost 30 years, she spent her summers in NH and Maine with her family.
Marian is survived by her five daughters, Deborah Purse and husband William of St. Augustine, FL, Sandra Monarca and husband Salvatore of Cromwell, CT, Patricia Rhodes of Mebane, NC, Laura McKay and husband Thomas of South Lyon, MI, and Andrea Sudol and husband Robert of Ramsey, NJ; eight grandchildren Vincent Monarca, Sara Wilson, Lisa Rhodes, Sean and Patrick McKay, Sabrina, Samantha, and Jack Sudol; and three great-grandchildren Derek and Dylan Wilson, and McKenna Zimmer.
Her memorial service will be held at Rohland Funeral Home, at 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 on Saturday 7/24 at 1:00 pm with Nancy J. Fittery officiating. There will be a visitation at 12:00 pm until the time of the service. A celebration of Marian’s life will be held at the Brookshire Community Center in Manheim from 3:00-5:00 pm.
No flowers please.
