He is survived by his sons, Robert Nichols and his wife Carol Nichols of Kerrville, Texas, and Glenn Nichols and his wife Deborah Nichols of Houston, Texas; and his daughter, Penny Nichols Bowden and Robert Bowden of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Bartise and Amalia Bowden of San Antonio, Texas and Allen Nichols of Dallas, Texas; and two great-grandchildren in Texas also.
George William Nichols, CMSgt, United States Airforce Retired, was born in Brooklyn, New York on 19 July 1929. He had a 30 year career with the Airforce, retiring in September 1980.
George married his first wife, Amalie (Molly) Struett, in Wurzburg, Germany in September 1953. They were married until she passed away in May 1983. He married his second wife, Betty Jean Moore in October 1983, and they were married until she passed away in June 2019.
George graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Edwards University, Austin, Texas in 1985.
Although a world traveler and comfortable in many cultures and languages, he remained, at heart, a Brooklyn Boy from Bedford-Stuyvesant.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM, at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Surprise Funeral Care.
