2021. Born in Little Rock to parents George Vance and Irma Marie Seaton, Greg
graduated from North Little Rock High School and attended Little Rock University.
He was a member of Kappa Sig. Gregory was a long time resident of Sherwood.
Greg Sr., known as “Senior,” was tall in stature with a big heart. He was a loving
husband, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a successful
businessman, owning and operating the White Pig Inn for 40 years. He also spent
part of his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance and ended his career as a Fly
Fishing guide with the Little Red River Fly Fishing Guide Service. He loved
spending time with family on hunting trips to the Buffalo Slough Duck Club and on
fishing trips with his sons and father.
Gregory was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs
and was active in United Methodist Men. He was also active in civic activities such
as the John Pickell Fishing Day for Veterans, Annual 4-Day Fishing Class, Little Red
River Clean-up, former President of Trout Unlimited and the Fly Tying Class at
Sulphur Creek Outfitters.
He was a fierce competitor on the tennis court. Gregory was very involved with the health and conservation of the Greers Ferry Lake Watershed, spending countless hours helping to ensure the health of the beloved Little Red River. He would patiently and meticulously hand tie his own trout flies
while in his shop. He also had a love of music and his guitar and was a very
talented artist, particularly with pencil sketches.
Gregory is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his
loving wife, Sondra Parker Seaton; sons, Gregory Vance Seaton, Jr. (Angela Ellen
Seaton) of Scott, Christopher Lane Seaton (Amie Redd Seaton) of Sherwood and
Ryan Courtney Seaton (Elizabeth Anne Gill) of Queens, NY; grandchildren Dylan
Tatsuya Seaton, Alexandra Seaton-Marshall (Elliott W.J. Marshall), Morgan
Elizabeth Seaton, Joey Christine Staton, Hollyn Raye Seaton, Sawyer Lane Seaton,
Lucas Bow Seaton; sister, Sherilyn Marie Venable (Clyde Venable) of North Little
Rock.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 15 at Griffin
Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd, NLR. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating.
