June was the loving mother of Mona Lisa "Lisa" Patterson, Cuban (Duane Weber) Curcuru, James (Lisa) Weathers, and the late Eugene "Bud" Weathers, Jr.; cherished grandma of 14, great-grandma "Granny" of 26; dear aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, and a friend to many in her lifetime.
June worked as a machinist her entire working career, retiring at 61. She loved frying chicken and baking cakes and pies for her family. She made the BEST biscuits and milk gravy, if you needed breakfast after a fun night. For June, the door was always open and the coffee was hot and the dumplings were on.
She enjoyed fishing and usually caught the biggest fish. She loved to travel to visit family and friends. She was thrilled to be able to take an Alaskan cruise with her daughter, Cuban.
She loved to be around all the children. Each and every birth was a proud thrill for her. She enjoyed crocheting gifts for everyone. She made scarves, hats, potholders, dishrags, and a baby blanket at every birth. She crocheted an army of family together with love in every stitch.
She was an avid collector of "what-nots" and leaves them all to her family along with a legacy of love. She showed strength, faith, and grace always. "I'm fine." She has gone home to Heaven to join everyone she has missed. Whisked away by angels, she's dancing now.
"Today was a good day."
A visitation will be Wednesday, June 16 from 4-8pm at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road 63125. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 17 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment Mount Olive Cemetery.
