Frederick A. “Ted” Lane, 72, of Fairhaven formerly of West Bridgewater, passed away, Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Rembiszewski) Lane with whom he shared 31 years of marriage.
He was born in Brockton, the son of Alden and Evelyn (Cook) Lane and he was a graduate of Brockton High School. Throughout his career Ted remained committed to his community, being involved with numerous boards and causes. He was most proud of his Brockton based business, Cushman Insurance, and its growth over the years. He was a wise businessman and was blessed to have the support of his partners, committed employees and faithful clients.
Aside from work, there was time for fun. Late nights brought home safely through divine intervention and yellow El Dorado, outlandish sailing adventures both locally and in the Caribbean, and many trips to Florida, Italy, Iceland, and the UK. Life was good.
In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by two sons, Marc Lane and his wife Stacey of Mattapoisett and Kevin Lane of Altamonte Springs, FL; Susan Lane of Berkley; grandchildren Abigail, Benjamin, Ethan and Alden Lane and Trevor Tomawski; siblings Roy Lane and his wife Helen of Lumberton, NJ, Peter Lane and his husband Martin of Takoma Park, MD, and Deborah Frasier and her partner Paul of Laughlin, NV; nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who stuck by him through thick and thin.
Take a moment to remember Ted’s kind spirit and pass some of that kindness on to someone in need.
His funeral arrangements are private and in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn in Fairhaven. To place an online tribute, please visit: www.waring-sullivan.com
