It would be wrong to say that Dottie lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Dottie stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Dottie. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
Dottie is survived by her son’s Robert (Rob), and William (Bill). Grandchildren Maya and Blake Sharpnack. Sister Elaine Sheehan and brother’s Donald (Don) Stefl and Thomas (Tom) Stefl.
Dottie was born on May 15, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania to parents Charles Stefl and Adelain Suter-Sharpnack. She graduated with a degree in Home Economics.
Dottie was a great family woman and a loving mother. She married Robert (Bob) on November 9th, 1963 in Oakland, Maryland and the couple had two children together.
Dottie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a feisty personality and a big-heart.

Later her family moved to Houston, Texas while on their way to Saudi Arabia where she worked as an in-home childcare provider and administrative assistant. Upon returning to the U.S. her family settled in Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked as a real estate agent. Following her husband’s career, he transferred to Colorado where she worked as a substitute teacher. Finally, he was transferred to Meridian, Idaho where she finished her career at Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
Dottie was a member of Daughters of the Nile. The Daughters of the Nile give generously of their time and talents by providing hours of volunteer time at the hospitals.
Dottie enjoyed baking, cooking, and canning. In addition, Dottie liked reading, crossword puzzles, quilting, and sewing. She was an avid football fan and loved spoiling her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank their friends Ron and Kathy Radford and family, Ron and Becky Morgan, and Marva Kelley, for all their help and support.
