James “Jimmy” L. McAnn, 70, of Macon, GA died Monday, June 14, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Forest Hill United Methodist Church in the Ministry Center. Andy Wilson will deliver the eulogy. The family will greet friends at the family residence on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Mr. McAnn was born to the late Joseph Robert and Marion Joyce McAnn in Macon, GA. Jimmy loved music, reading, technology, and golf. He was of the Methodist faith and worked as a computer programmer for 45 years. He coached men and women’s softball teams at the Hillcrest United Methodist Church as well as his children.
He was a quiet man who only spoke when he had something important to say. He had a love for learning and a sharp mischievous wit. He was smart, funny, and kind.
Mr. McAnn is survived by his wife, Cheryl Thigpen McAnn; daughters, Kim Childs and Kelly Munoz (Lou) of Macon, Kasey Lux (Jason) of Byron; grandchildren, Mayson Childs, Ande McAnn, Nora Crook, and Mac Munoz all of Macon. As he so frequently said….”Jingle Bells to All”.
