Paul Joseph Lord, 71, beloved husband of Nancy (Tevald) Lord, of Rocky Hill, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021. Paul was born in Hartford and was son of the late George and Loretta (Bergeron) Lord.
Paul was a resident of Wethersfield for 34 years, just recently moving to Rocky Hill. Paul grew up in Hartford’s South End, graduating South Catholic High School, and had been the Night Manager and bartender at the Hartford Elks for 34 years until his retirement in 2020. During his time working at the Elks, he made many friends. He welcomed you as you walked in and enjoyed great conversations with everyone there. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Paul will especially be remembered for enjoying a fine cigar while relaxing on the beach with the warm sun shining on his face and his favorite cocktail in his hand. His favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach where he and Nancy traveled annually for many years.
Along with his beloved wife, Nancy, Paul will be dearly missed by his two sons, Justin Paul Lord and Michael Joseph Lord, both of Rocky Hill; his precious granddaughter, Jocelyn Elizabeth Lord; his two brothers, Richard and Gerard Lord, both of Hartford; a step son Kenneth Tevald; sisters-in-law, Janice Gengras of Wethersfield, and Joanne Bjorkman of Clinton; brother-in-law, Clancy Kaye and his wife Edith, of Holyoke, MA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close and dear friends, which includes his Lodge brothers and sisters and fellow communicants of Holy Trinity Church.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Robert Lord and father and mother in law, Edward and Frances Tevald.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 53 Capital Avenue, Hartford, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield is entrusted with Paul’s arrangements.
