Linda was born on May 15, 1959 in Pensacola, FL to the late Alfred and Lillian Klim. She graduated from Toms River North High School and then Montclair State University with a BA degree in speech therapy. She taught at South Toms River elementary. Linda had a passion for teaching and was an advocate for making sure children overcame obstacles and could reach their full potential. She retired in 2007. She married John Stephens in 1999. John and Linda travelled extensively, starting with a marriage proposal in front of the Eiffel Tower, then trips across Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. They moved to Tequesta, Florida in 2007 and now reside in Hobe Sound.
To say Linda was outgoing would be an understatement, she never truly retired. She had an incredible eye and talent for interior design & painting. Perfectionist and Hard worker were common words used to describe her. Linda’s beautiful smile could light up the darkest room, she had a true gift of hospitality – always making sure people felt welcome and important. She loved her community and was always lending a hand when needed. She enjoyed gardening, painting, floating in her pool, going to social events and hosting parties but her greatest joy was “walking her boys”. She had a compassion for animals, especially those in need of love and a forever home.
Linda is survived by her husband John, furbaby Guinesss, brother Bruce Klim and wife Linda, Eagle River AK, brother Gary Klim, Hobe Sound, FL, cousins Christine Mallek, Edward Klim, Elizabeth Dill and Joanne Kellgren.
