Ron Wayne Wells Sr.

Ronnie Wayne Wells, Sr.(Ron) was born on April 30th, 1936, in Hooker Missouri, to Clyde Raymond Wells, and Alice Lucille Wells. They settled in Devils Elbow, Missouri, where he enjoyed an outdoor lifestyle of fishing, hunting, and exploring the rivers, mountains, and woods of south central Missouri. He graduated from Waynesville High School, in 1954, and joined the U.S. Navy in 1956 as a pilot trainee. He was stationed at Barin Field outside of Foley, Alabama for his flight training. He met his first wife, Patricia Ann Pate Wells, in the summer of 1956 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. They were married in September of 1956 and originally settled in Gulf Shores, and later her home town of Mobile, Alabama. After flight training, he was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid until his honorable discharge in 1959. Ron had a long career in the material handling business, starting out in parts, and working his way up to branch manager.

After Patricia's passing in 2004 after 47 years of marriage, he met, and in 2010 married, Donna Lynn Tillman, who he was lovingly and gratefully with until his grand entrance into Heaven, on Sunday July 25th, 2021. Ron and Donna loved to work in the garden, take care of their chickens, and dog Jocko, relax in the pool, and visit with all his grandchildren, and great grandchildren as often as possible.

He was a devoted family man, taking them on vacations around the country, and also deep sea fishing, river fishing in the Ozarks, camping in Devils Elbow, Gulf Shores, and Dauphin Island, deer hunting, water skiing, and attending all of their football, baseball, and basketball games. He was an AVID Crimson Tide fan, (Roll Tide Roll), and never missed an opportunity to watch their games. He was a long time member of the Conde Cavaliers Mardi Gras organization, and enjoyed going to all the parades each year. He also was a member of the Mobile Masonic lodge for many years. Ron loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and always had a smile and a hug for each one.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, C. R. & Alice Wells, his sister Carolyn Wells Dieser, his first wife Patricia Pate Wells, and his son David Wells. He is survived by his wife, Donna Lynn Wells, his brother Ken Wells (Tauni) his sons, Ron Wells, Jr. (Jeri Dockery), Jerry Wells (Cindy), his stepsons, Jonathan Cox, Greg Cox, Tim Cox (Kendra), stepdaughter, Neisja Patterson, 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
