Clifford F. "Cliff" Dunaway, age 80, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021. He will be entombed in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia in the Spring of 2022. Family will greet friends at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Cliff was born in Decatur, Alabama to the late M.O. and Izell Dunaway. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He credited the Navy with his successful 35 year career in IT. Cliff met the love of his life, Pat, and they were married on March 29, 1969 at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Cliff was an active member of many organizations, including the VFW, the American Legion, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Lion's Club. He loved motorcycles and cycling, having participated several times in BRAG. Cliff's other hobbies included making custom fishing rods, angling, and golf, but he was most fond of shooting pool and Snooker Tournament Tuesdays.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Pat Dunaway; sons David Abrams (Barbara) and Paul Dunaway; daughter Lea Owens (Jeff); grandchildren Megan Harned, Chase Harned, and Ashton Owens; sister Gayle Dunaway Franklin; several nieces, nephews, and a tremendous host of friends.
