Mike will be dearly missed by his three children, Marie (Rick) Bernard, Coldstream, BC; Margaret (Charles) Peterson, Balgonie, SK; and Ken (Angie) Schreiner, Spruce Grove, AB.
Cherishing his memory are eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, Devon (Jen) Bernard, Araea, Tristan and Taylor, Pigeon Lake, AB; Shaun (Heather) Bernard, Gavin, Coldstream, BC; Jill Peterson (Steve), Integrity and Justaya, Regina; Jade Peterson (Jody), Cameron and Cashtin, Regina; Jaymi Schmidt (Nathan), Isabella and Callie, Pilot Butte; Taryn Bulhoes (John), Josephine and Theodore, Lloydminster, SK., Brandon and Mason Schreiner, Spruce Grove.
Mike will also be lovingly remembered by his brother Johnny (Emerald Park); sister Marie Ann (Minnedosa, MB); Brother in-law Ed (Margaret) Fetsch (Balgonie); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents John and Katie, brother Adam (Cecilia), sister Betty Lechner (Clifford), and Katie (Bill) Andrusiak.
Born in 1928, Mike was the eldest of six siblings. In 1952, he married the love of his life Josephine Fetsch, and they raised their three children on the family dairy farm 6.5 miles north of Balgonie. Along with his dedication to the farming life, Mike was also a school board trustee, member of the Saskatchewan Wheat Board, Dairy Producers Association and the Knights of Columbus. Mike was an active volunteer with his church and, could be counted on to tend bar at special events. Following Josie’s passing in 2006, Mike remained on the farm until his health no longer allowed him to do so in 2018. He moved to Regina, eventually settling at William Albert House until his passing. Mike’s family would like to thank William Albert House for the kindness and compassion shown to him during his stay.

A graveside service took place on Friday August 27, 2021, at St. Joseph's Colony Parish Cemetery, St. Joseph's, Saskatchewan at 1:30 pm, and was followed by a come and go tea at the 50+ Club in Balgonie, Saskatchewan.
