Virginia Rose Miller, born July 25, 1926, died September 1, 2021 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “Bud” Miller. She is survived by her children Ron and Karen Miller, Mona and Chris Andre; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sisters Patty Curtis of CA, Carol Landis and Betty White of Dayton, Ohio, and Rose Livingston, of IL.
Virginia and Bud were lifelong farmers; they ran a 1,200 head hog operation, farrow-to-finish. She worked continuously, with a 20 minute nap daily to keep going. Virginia was an excellent seamstress, creating several wedding and bridesmaid dresses for family members. She made several altar cloths and custom-made vestments and stoles for former priests at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she was a lifelong member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was also known for her beautiful wedding cakes and cakes for any special occasion, which she made in her home for many years. She was an excellent cook, and always had enough food and room at her table for company, expected or not. Her cookies were the best around, and she loved to read and play cards. She hung many rolls of wallpaper in her life - always straight and seams matched perfectly. Many years she made Christmas gifts for her grandchildren. Among them were cabbage patch dolls, sleeping bags, and puppets. She lived with passion for everything and everyone.
