In 1952, after moving from his home in Kentucky to look for work in Detroit, Ralph met the love of his life, Donna. They spent 64 cherished years being married before her death in 2017. When Ralph was 16, in 1944, he enlisted in the Navy but after 6 months they realized his age and he was sent home. His will to serve his country was too strong and he enlisted in the Army with the help of his older brother. He was discharged after an injury while parachuting. In the 1960’s he joined the Masonic Temple where he remained a life time member. He started his working career at Twin Pines where he worked for 17 years before buying his own delivery route. After owning his own business, he worked for the Warren school system. He retired in 1988. Ralph loved to read a good mystery novel or a historical non-fiction book. During the winter months he would take his wife down to their summer home in Pine Island where they could spend time together enjoying the weather. Church became a big part of his life when his grandson introduced them into The Woods Church where he went every Sunday.
Ralph is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Donna Castle, and his 13 siblings. He is survived by his caring children Gregory Castle, Gerald (Sally) Castle, and Daniel (Carolee) Castle.
