Bertram, TX in the arms of his loving wife, Kathryn Dawson Roma and his son Vincent by his
side.
Joe was born on July 30, 1957 in Endicott, NY to Gino Roma and Olga Teresa Tatusko Roma.
Joe is predeceased by his parents, Gino in 2004 & Olga in 1974 and brother, Gino Robert Roma
in 2012 & sister-in-law Rita Ann Rizzi Roma in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, son Vincent Thomas Roma, daughter Nicole Fodor Wolfe
(Ian), brother Mario Roma (Linda), nephew’s Mark Roma (Candace) & Brian Roma (Heather)
and a great-niece Zoey.
Joe was first and foremost a husband and father and loved his family dearly.
Joe & Kathy married May 14, 1988 when Kathy’s daughter, Nicole was 9 years old. He fell in
love with both of them, became an instant father and has been the best father a young girl could
ask for. He said, “any man can become a father but it takes someone special to become a dad”
and that he did.
Joe was very active in sports. He played football, threw the shot-put & Discus, did weightlifting
and practiced Jujitsu well into his 30’s. It was about that same time he met Kathy & Nicole and
his priorities shifted and taking care of his family became most important. He enjoyed taking
Vincent to his various activities in school & church and loved Nicole’s passion for music.
Joe’s hobbies were muscle cars, hunting and target shooting with the police league.
He was a true patriot, loved his country and had great respect for the ‘boys in blue.’
Joe worked as an Analytical Chemist for the pharmaceutical Industry and worked for Johnson
and Johnson as well as Pfizer Pharmaceutical. When Kathy’s mom became ill and needed
care, Joe decided to leave his job and move his family to Texas to help care for his
mother-in-law. It didn’t take long until he fell in love withTexas and decided to stay.
