Johnny Lee Thompson, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. He was the son of Isaac and Rosa Bell Thompson on December 19, 1932 in Minter, Alabama. Johnny served with the United States Army during the Korean War, and retired from the Mobile Police Department after 24 years of service. He and his wife were parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maysville.
Johnny is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Windola Blackmon Thompson; one son, Jared (Regina) Thompson; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Thompson; two brothers, William T. (Lucy) Thompson and Peter (Leigh) Thompson; two sisters-in-law, Betty Lou White and Mahalia Henderson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Johnny will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway. A graveside service will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 11 a.m.
