Sosenko, Robert A., 81 passed away September 14, 2021, in Tampa, Florida. Robert (Bob) was born in Cleveland, Ohio graduating from Lincoln High School in 1958. After high school in October of 1958, he enlisted in The United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Bob worked as an Offset Pressman receiving numerous decorations and medals and was honorably discharged in June 1961. Bob was employed by McNichols Company in Cleveland and took a transfer moving his family to Tampa, Florida in 1978. He stayed with McNichols Company through his retirement in 2003. During this time Bob joined the Florida Marine Patrol Auxiliary which is now known as Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation. Bob enjoyed serving the state of Florida and received the rank of Major before retiring. Bob enjoyed time with his family and loved spending time with his grandson taking great joy in watching him play football. Bob was an avid sportsman, enjoying bowling, tennis, golf, and many other sports.
Bob is survived by his wife Carol (Werntz) of 56 years; grandson, Sean Henneman, four daughters, Lisa Chandler (Jeff), Halle Henneman (Mark), Shelley Sosenko, Kimberly Boulahanis (Johnny Owens and his children, Jordan, Paris, Destany and her son Vincent); brother, Dennis Sosenko; along with many loving nieces, nephews, and loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Sosenko, mother, Doris Albanese, and sister, Charlene Austin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 6, 2021, at 10:30am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home (Carrollwood). The family will receive friends one hour prior. An internment with Military Honors will be held at the Florida National Cemetery Bushnell, Florida on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11am.
Donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Bob’s name.
